Our namesake—Kulshan—reflects our pride in the beautiful region where we live and work. Before explorer George Vancouver named Whatcom County’s highest peak Mount Baker in 1792, it was known by Native Americans of the Lummi Nation as Qwú’mə Kwəlshéːn. Today, the mountain is known locally as Koma Kulshan or, simply, Kulshan—the name we proudly share with our Co-Founder Zach’s son.
